Law And Reason
Saw this movie yesterday where there was this old professor taking the inagural class of first year law students at Harvard Law School. She starts the class with this one line definition of law by Aristotle (if you come to think of it, he was a great philosopher)
"Law is Reason devoid of Passion"
How enigmatic, thought provoking! Musing on the same this is what came up in my mind when I think of the way laws are enacted in our country, rather in many countries ..
"Law is Passion devoid of Reason"
Mankind, how exalted are thy ideals and how foolish thy actions !

Laws are not perenially bad but they are not well defined in most cases...this leads to the twisting and turning of it...and always money holds sway as it can buy spellbinding lawyers...
